Description
The Knightsbridge 32A 4-pole rotary isolator provides on/off control for three-phase and single-phase circuits up to 415V AC, housed in an IP65-rated ABS and polycarbonate enclosure. The red rotary handle with yellow surround indicates the switch position, turning 90 degrees between OFF and ON. The handle interlocks with the lid, preventing the enclosure from being opened while the switch is in the ON position.
Designed for outdoor and wet-location installation, the IP65 rating provides protection against low-pressure water jets and dust ingress, making the isolator suitable for exterior walls, plant rooms, workshops and agricultural buildings. Cable entry is via M20 threaded knockouts on the base and sides of the enclosure, accepting M20 cable glands for sealed entry. The isolator includes earth terminals rated to the same 32A capacity.
The 125mm × 100mm × 120mm enclosure mounts to a wall or equipment panel via internal fixing points. The ABS and polycarbonate construction resists UV degradation and impact, maintaining IP65 protection across temperature variations. The rotary mechanism is rated for 32A continuous load across all four poles, with a breaking capacity suitable for motor and resistive loads in industrial and commercial settings.

Frequently Asked
What does the lid interlock do?
The rotary handle mechanically locks the enclosure lid in place when the switch is in the ON position. This prevents the lid from being opened while the circuit is live, providing a safety feature during maintenance. The lid can only be opened when the handle is rotated to OFF.
What cable entry does it support?
The enclosure has M20 threaded knockouts on the base and sides. Use M20 cable glands (sold separately) to create sealed cable entries that maintain the IP65 rating. The knockouts accept standard metric cable glands available from most electrical wholesalers.
Can this be used for single-phase circuits?
Yes. The 4-pole isolator works with both three-phase (415V) and single-phase (230V) circuits. For single-phase use, connect live and neutral to two of the four poles and leave the other two poles unused. The earth terminal is separate and always used.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. The IP65 rating provides protection against low-pressure water jets and dust, making the isolator suitable for exterior walls, outdoor plant rooms and wet industrial environments. The ABS and polycarbonate construction resists UV degradation.
