Description

The Knightsbridge 3-gang intelligent dimmer provides independent control of three separate lighting circuits from a single polished brass screwless faceplate. Each gang handles loads between 10-200W for conventional bulbs or 5-150W for dimmable LEDs, with trailing-edge and leading-edge modes switchable from the front-mounted control knob without removing the plate or accessing the wiring.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms and hallways where multiple lighting circuits need individual dimming control, the unit fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and uses a two-piece screwless construction where the cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame. Each gang operates via push on/off and rotary dimming, with overload and overheat protection built into the circuit alongside an inrush current limiter to handle the power surge when LEDs are first switched on.

The polished brass finish delivers a warm metallic accent that pairs well with traditional and classical interiors. The dimmer caps match the faceplate finish, giving a unified appearance across all three controls. The front-accessible mode switching and trim controls allow the dimmer to be adjusted or reset if lamp types are changed in future without needing an electrician to access the back box wiring, though all lamps on a single gang must be the same brand, type and wattage to avoid flicker or compatibility issues.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between trailing-edge and leading-edge dimming?

Trailing-edge works with most dimmable LEDs and is the preset default mode. Leading-edge suits older incandescent and halogen bulbs. If LED bulbs flicker or fail to dim smoothly, switch to leading-edge mode using the front control knob to test compatibility.

Can I mix different bulb types on one gang?

No. All lamps controlled by a single gang must be the same brand, type and wattage. Mixing lamp types causes flicker, buzzing or incompatibility. Each of the three gangs can control a different lamp type, but within each gang all bulbs must match.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm projection from the wall once fitted, with 21.3mm recessed into the back box.

How do I adjust the minimum dimming level?

Use the front-mounted control knob to access trim mode, which adjusts the minimum brightness level without removing the faceplate. Full instructions are in the product specification sheet linked in the Downloads tab.
