Each gang features a push on/off rotary dimmer control with a matching smoked bronze cap, and the dimmer can switch between trailing-edge and leading-edge modes to suit different lamp technologies.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms where multiple lighting circuits need independent dimming control from a single faceplate, the SF2193SB provides overload and overheat protection plus an integrated inrush current limiter to extend lamp life. The trailing-edge and leading-edge mode switching is controlled from the front of the plate via the control knob, allowing the dimmer to be reconfigured without removing the faceplate if lamp types are changed after installation. The 2-way switching capability means the dimmer can be paired with a remote switch elsewhere in the room for two-point control of the same circuit.

The smoked bronze finish on the premium-grade steel faceplate provides a dark metallic accent with slight texture variation across the surface, pairing well with industrial, contemporary and transitional interiors. The screwless design uses a cover plate that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, hiding all fixings from view once installed. What's the difference between trailing-edge and leading-edge modes?

Trailing-edge mode suits most dimmable LED and low-voltage halogen lamps, while leading-edge mode suits traditional incandescent and mains-voltage halogen lamps. The dimmer ships preset to trailing-edge mode and can be switched to leading-edge via the front control knob if needed to match the lamp technology being controlled.

Can I mix different lamp brands on one gang?

No. Each gang must control lamps of the same brand and wattage to ensure stable dimming performance. Mixing lamp types or wattages on a single gang causes flicker, buzzing or early lamp failure.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted, with a recessed depth of 21.3mm behind the wall surface.

Is the dimmer suitable for bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means the dimmer is suitable for dry indoor areas only. It is not rated for bathroom zones where moisture or water exposure may occur.
