Description
A shallow ring of opal white diffuser held in a white trim, this one sits tight against the ceiling and gives a clean disc of light rather than a bright hotspot. The diffuser measures 30cm across and the body is slim, so from below it reads as a soft circle rather than a box. The LED and its driver are built in, so there is nothing to slot in and nothing to change later. Output is 1920 lumens at 24W, in a crisp daylight white that keeps paintwork and tiling looking true.
We reach for a flush fitting like this where a pendant would hang down into head height: hallways, landings, small kitchens, utility rooms and box rooms with a low ceiling. It is sealed against dust and splashing water, so it also earns its place in a shower room, a downstairs loo or a laundry cupboard where steam is a fact of life. There is no switch on the fitting itself and it does not dim, so it belongs on a wall switch in a room where you want full, immediate light the moment you walk in.
The trim is finished in plain white and the diffuser in opal, a pairing that disappears into a white ceiling and takes nothing away from the rest of the room. Double insulated construction means no earth connection is called for. For cleaning, isolate at the wall switch, let the diffuser cool, then go over the face with a barely damp cloth and dry it off; nothing abrasive, and no sprays aimed at the edge of the trim. It carries a five year warranty. We stock this one in the single opal white finish, and we tend to pair it with the same clean white in a bathroom or a hall where several fittings are visible at once. Nothing further is needed to light it.

Frequently Asked
What colour temperature does it give?
6400K, a daylight white. It is the coolest, crispest end of the white range, which is why it works so well in bathrooms, utility rooms and task areas.
How far does it drop from the ceiling?
Just 45mm, so it keeps well clear of doorways, cupboard fronts and anyone tall crossing a low hall.
Can I put it on a dimmer?
No. It is a non-dimmable fitting and should be run from a standard on/off wall switch.
Is it suitable for a bathroom?
It is IP54 rated, which covers dust and splashing water, so it is appropriate for shower rooms and en suites outside the immediate spray of the shower.
What happens when the LED reaches the end of its life?
The LED is integral and rated at 25,000 hours of average life, which is many years of normal household use. There is no replaceable lamp inside it.
How bright is it in practice?
1920 lumens from 24W spread over a wide beam, which is comfortable general light for a hallway, a cloakroom or a small kitchen.
