Description

The Knightsbridge JB0014 is a 24A 3-way gel-filled junction box rated IP68 for complete protection against water ingress when submerged or buried. The moulded PA66 body comes pre-loaded with insulating gel and includes a 1-to-2 lever connector plus cable sleeves, allowing tool-free installation of up to three cables without needing terminal blocks or screwdrivers.

Designed for outdoor landscape lighting, garden power runs, signage installations and any external electrical splices that may be exposed to rain, soil moisture or direct submersion, the junction box accepts H07RNF 3-core flexible cables between 0.75mm² and 2.5mm² cross-section via three M22 cable glands. Each gland accommodates cable diameters from 5mm to 14mm, creating a compression seal around the outer sheath once tightened.

The IP68 rating is tested at 5 bar pressure, equivalent to being submerged under 50 metres of water, making the box suitable for direct burial in garden beds, pond installations or low-level exterior walls subject to heavy rain and flooding. The flame-retardant PA66 construction carries a V-0 rating and the silicone sealing maintains integrity across a temperature range of -30°C to +85°C, covering UK winter lows and summer highs in direct sunlight.

The gel inside the enclosure displaces air around the cable entry points and lever connector, preventing condensation and ensuring the splice remains dry even when the external environment is saturated. The compact 115mm x 103mm x 32mm footprint fits into tight spaces behind outdoor light fittings, under decking, or within conduit junction points where a traditional screwed terminal box would be too large.
