Description

The Knightsbridge 20AX DP grid module is a single-gang switch insert designed to clip into modular grid mounting frames (sold separately). The module provides double pole switching, isolating both live and neutral lines when switched off, rated at 20A (4,600W at 230V). The matt white finish matches standard UK wall accessories and blends into white or light-coloured interiors.

Grid systems allow multiple switches, sockets and data ports to be combined in a single wall plate, making them suited to kitchens, home offices and commercial installations where multiple circuits need controlling from one location. This module occupies one grid space (approximately 25mm width), so two can fit side-by-side in a dual mounting frame or three in a triple frame. The clip-in fitting means modules can be added, removed or swapped without rewiring the entire assembly.

The module body is moulded from ABS polymer with steel internal contacts and terminals. At 56mm high and 25mm wide, the module sits flush within the grid frame, projecting 7mm from the front of the frame once clipped in. A 35mm minimum back box depth is required for installation, the same as standard UK wiring accessories. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations — grid modules do not carry the IP ratings needed for bathroom zones or outdoor exposure.
