Description
Aerial and satellite feeds rarely arrive alone, so this plate carries two coaxial sockets behind a single flat charcoal front. The colour is a deep grey that reads darker than steel and quieter than black, and the screwless plate clips over its frame to leave an unbroken face with no screw heads on show. At 88mm square it takes the usual twin-plate footprint, so it lines up with the switches and sockets already running along the wall. Both sockets sit side by side on the same face, ready for a television point and a second coaxial feed.
We reach for this one behind wall-hung televisions, where a single socket would leave a splitter dangling out of sight but not out of mind. It gives you an aerial feed and a second coaxial run from one tidy position, which suits living rooms, bedrooms and studies as readily as a home office. The circuits here are low voltage signal only, so there is no mains switching involved and nothing on the plate to operate. Dry, heated indoor rooms are its place, not garages, porches or shower rooms.
The plate and its frame are moulded in polycarbonate, a hard plastic that holds a crisp edge and takes the charcoal colour right through, so a knock shows far less than it would on a painted finish. Keep it clean with a barely damp cloth and dry it off afterwards; kitchen sprays and cream cleaners will dull the matt surface in time, and nothing of that sort is needed. It carries a ten year warranty. Where a room is already running charcoal plates, this keeps the run reading as one, and against pale paintwork the darker face works as a deliberate contrast rather than something to be hidden.

Frequently Asked
What size is the front plate?
It is 88mm by 88mm, the standard twin-plate size, so it sits alongside other double plates in a run without looking out of step.
What are the two sockets for?
Both are coaxial, so you can run a television aerial feed and a second coaxial connection, such as a satellite or distributed feed, from the same plate.
What is it made from?
The plate and frame are moulded polycarbonate in a charcoal finish, with the colour through the material rather than applied on top.
Is it suitable for a bathroom or an outbuilding?
No. It is rated IP20 for indoor use only and should be kept to dry, heated rooms.
How deep does it need to sit?
It works with a 25mm back box depth, which is the shallow standard for signal sockets of this type.
How should I clean it?
A barely damp cloth, then a dry one. Skip solvents, cream cleaners and kitchen degreasers, as they will take the sheen off the matt charcoal.
