Description
Two F-type satellite connections sit on a single screwless plate, finished in a soft moss green. The plate face is unbroken by screw heads, so the eye reads the colour and nothing else, and at 88mm square it takes up little more wall than a standard switch plate. Both connectors are the threaded F-type used for satellite feeds, ready for cable coming in from a dish.
We would fit this behind a television where a satellite receiver or recorder needs feeds for recording and watching at the same time, as many boxes do. It suits a media wall in a sitting room, a bedroom taking a run from the same dish, or a study where a receiver sits beside the desk. Because it handles low voltage signal rather than mains, it stays a quiet, low key part of the wall, and it belongs in dry rooms inside the house. Even if only one feed is in use to begin with, the spare connection is there when a different box arrives.
The plate is moulded in polycarbonate with the colour carried right through the material, so scuffs and knocks do not reveal a paler shade underneath. To keep it looking right, wipe it with a dry or barely damp cloth and keep solvents, kitchen sprays and cream cleaners away from it, as they can dull the surface. It carries a ten year warranty. Moss green reads as an earthy, settled colour rather than a bright one, and it holds its own against chalky whites, clay plasters and oak. We like it best in rooms where the joinery or a panelled wall is painted in a similar depth of green, so the plate reads as part of the scheme rather than something applied to it.

Frequently Asked
What sort of connections does it have?
Two threaded F-type connectors, the standard fitting for satellite cable and receiver leads.
Can I use it for a terrestrial television aerial?
No. F-type connectors are intended for satellite feeds; an aerial run needs a coaxial or aerial socket instead.
How big is the plate?
It measures 88mm by 88mm, and the depth behind the plate is 25mm.
Is it suitable for a bathroom or an outbuilding?
It is rated IP20 and made for indoor use only, so keep it to dry rooms.
How should I clean it?
A dry or slightly damp cloth is all it needs. Avoid solvents, bleach and abrasive creams, which can mark the moulded finish.
Why choose two gang rather than one?
Recorders and receivers with more than a single tuner need separate feeds to record one channel while another is on screen, and a spare connection is useful if the equipment changes.
