Description
The Knightsbridge 2-gang 2-way intelligent dimmer handles 10-200W incandescent or halogen loads, or 5-150W LED loads, behind an anthracite screwless metal faceplate with matching dimmer caps. The dual-gang configuration allows independent dimming control of two separate lighting circuits from a single wall plate, with each rotary knob controlling one circuit.
Designed for residential and hospitality installation, the dimmer supports both trailing-edge and leading-edge dimming modes, selectable via the front-plate control knob without removing the faceplate or accessing the back box. This mode flexibility allows the dimmer to work with a wide range of dimmable LED, halogen and incandescent bulbs. The push-on/push-off action on each knob provides on-off switching, while rotation adjusts brightness level. The dimmer includes overload protection, overheat protection and an inrush current limiter to prevent spikes when switching high-draw loads.
The screwless anthracite finish provides a dark gunmetal-grey tone that pairs well with contemporary, industrial and monochrome interiors. The faceplate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, leaving no visible screws or fixings on the wall once installed. The 4.3mm projection from the wall and 87.5mm square footprint match standard UK switch dimensions, allowing the dimmer to sit flush with other plates in a multi-gang row. The dimmer requires a minimum 25mm back box depth and fits standard UK wiring with earth terminal connection.
For optimal performance, avoid mixing different lamp brands, wattages or types (LED/halogen/incandescent) within the same circuit controlled by a single gang. Mixed loads can cause flicker, reduced dimming range or uneven brightness across bulbs on the same circuit.

Frequently Asked
What's the difference between trailing-edge and leading-edge dimming?
Trailing-edge dimming suits most modern LED and low-voltage halogen loads, providing smoother dimming and reduced electromagnetic interference. Leading-edge dimming suits older incandescent and some high-voltage halogen bulbs. This dimmer supports both modes, selectable via the front-plate control knob, allowing it to work with a wider range of bulb types.
Can I mix LED and halogen bulbs on the same gang?
No. Mixing different lamp technologies, brands or wattages within a single circuit controlled by one gang causes flicker, reduced dimming range or uneven brightness. Each gang should control a single lamp type at consistent wattage.
What back box depth is required?
A minimum 25mm back box depth is needed. The screwless faceplate adds 4.3mm projection from the wall once fitted, giving a total installation depth of approximately 29mm from the wall surface.
How do I adjust the minimum and maximum brightness levels?
The trimming function is accessed via the front-plate control knob. Press and hold the knob in a specific sequence (detailed in the product specification sheet) to enter trim mode, then rotate to set minimum and maximum brightness thresholds for the connected load.
