Description
The Knightsbridge 2-gang 2-way intelligent dimmer handles 10-200W incandescent or halogen loads and 5-150W LED loads per gang, with automatic detection of trailing-edge and leading-edge dimming modes. The brushed chrome screwless faceplate conceals all fixings behind matching rotary dimmer caps, giving a clean finish across the 87.5mm square plate.
Designed for residential lighting circuits where dimming control is needed from two switch positions, the dimmer fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and uses screw terminals for mains and loop wiring. The front rotary knobs provide push on/off action and continuous dimming rotation, with mode switching, trimming and resetting controlled via the same interface. Pre-set to trailing-edge mode out of the box, the dimmer automatically switches to leading-edge if it detects an incompatible load, removing the need for manual configuration in most installations.
The dimmer includes overload and overheat protection, shutting down if the connected load exceeds the rated wattage or if internal temperatures rise beyond safe operating limits. An integrated Inrush Current Limiter (ICL) manages the initial power surge when incandescent or halogen lamps are switched on, reducing stress on the lamp filaments and extending bulb life. The brushed chrome finish provides a mid-tone metallic accent that pairs with both warm and cool-toned interiors, and the low-profile design projects just 4.3mm from the wall when installed.

Frequently Asked
What loads does this dimmer support?
The dimmer handles 10-200W per gang for incandescent or halogen lamps, and 5-150W per gang for LED lamps. It automatically detects whether trailing-edge or leading-edge dimming is required and switches mode accordingly.
What does 2-way mean?
2-way means the dimmer can control the same lighting circuit from two different switch positions, such as at opposite ends of a hallway or at the top and bottom of a staircase. It requires appropriate loop wiring between the two switch positions.
Can I mix LED and halogen lamps on the same dimmer gang?
No. Each gang should control a single lamp type, brand and wattage for stable dimming performance. Mixing different lamp types or brands on the same gang can cause flickering, incomplete dimming or premature dimmer failure.
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is required for safe installation. The dimmer's recessed depth is 21.3mm, and the screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.
