The Knightsbridge 2-gang 2-way intelligent dimmer handles incandescent loads from 10-200W or LED loads from 5-150W per gang, controlled via two rotary knobs set into a smoked bronze screwless faceplate. The dimmer switches between trailing-edge and leading-edge modes using the front plate control, making it compatible with most dimmable LED, halogen and incandescent bulbs without requiring access to the back of the unit.

Designed for two-way switching installations where the same lighting circuit is controlled from multiple switch positions, the dimmer suits living rooms, hallways and staircases needing dimming capability at both ends of the circuit. The rotary action provides continuous dimming control with push on/off operation, allowing precise adjustment of light levels. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, hiding all fixings once installed.

The smoked bronze finish is a mid-tone brushed metal that sits darker than standard brass but warmer than gunmetal, pairing well with industrial, contemporary and transitional interiors using grey, charcoal or warm neutral palettes. The dimmer includes overload and overheat protection, plus an integrated inrush current limiter to prevent tripping when switching on high-capacitance LED drivers. The 25mm minimum back box depth and premium-grade steel construction allow installation in both plastered and dry-lined walls.

Best results are achieved when all lamps on the same circuit share the same brand, model and wattage. Mixing different LED types or wattages on a single dimmer can cause flicker or incomplete dimming range.

What's the difference between trailing-edge and leading-edge dimming?

Trailing-edge dimming suits most LED and low-voltage halogen lamps, while leading-edge suits older incandescent and some halogen loads. This dimmer ships preset to trailing-edge mode but can be switched to leading-edge using the front plate control knob if compatibility issues occur with specific bulbs.

Can this dimmer control two separate lighting circuits?

Yes. Each gang controls an independent circuit, allowing you to dim two different rooms or lighting zones from a single faceplate. Each gang handles up to 200W incandescent or 150W LED load.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm projection from the wall once fitted, with 21.3mm recessed depth behind the wall surface.

Why do some LED bulbs flicker or not dim fully?

LED dimming performance depends on the bulb's driver circuit design. For best results, use dimmable LEDs from the same brand and batch on each gang. Mixing different LED types, brands or wattages can cause flicker, buzzing or incomplete dimming range. If issues persist, try switching to leading-edge mode.
