Description
The Knightsbridge 18W LED bulkhead combines integrated motion detection with a switchable colour temperature LED in a 360mm diameter die-cast aluminium housing finished in grey. The microwave sensor detects movement through walls and glass within its detection zone, switching the light on when motion is detected and off after a set period, reducing energy consumption compared to permanently-lit outdoor fittings. The CCT gear tray allows switching between 3000K warm white (1680lm), 4000K neutral white (1790lm), and 6000K cool white (1810lm) to match the required colour temperature for the application.
Designed for outdoor wall and soffit mounting on building entrances, pathways, car parks, industrial yards and covered loading bays, the bulkhead carries an IP65 rating protecting the LED and driver from dust ingress and water jets from any direction. The polycarbonate diffuser is impact-resistant and vandal-resistant, suitable for high-traffic public areas and commercial premises where deliberate or accidental impact may occur. The 92mm projection from the wall gives clearance for the sensor and driver without dominating the facade.
The die-cast aluminium body dissipates heat from the 18W SMD LED array, maintaining consistent light output over the 50,000-hour L70B50 rated lifespan. The opal diffuser distributes light across a 110-degree beam angle, providing wide-area illumination rather than a narrow spot. The fitting is not dimmable and operates on 230V 50Hz mains with a constant-current driver. The grey finish is a mid-tone neutral that recedes visually against rendered, brick or concrete facades and does not show weathering or minor marking as quickly as white or black alternatives.

Frequently Asked
How does the microwave sensor work?
The microwave sensor emits radio frequency waves and detects changes in the reflected signal when motion occurs within the detection zone. Unlike passive infrared sensors, microwave sensors can detect movement through non-metallic barriers such as walls and glass, making them effective in covered outdoor areas and around corners. The sensor triggers the light to turn on when motion is detected and switches off after a preset time-out period once motion stops.
What does CCT switchable mean?
CCT (correlated colour temperature) switchable means the LED gear tray inside the bulkhead has a physical switch allowing you to select one of three colour temperatures: 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white, or 6000K cool white. The selection is made once during installation by changing the switch position on the gear tray before fitting the diffuser. This allows the same fitting to be used across different applications without stocking multiple SKUs.
What does IP65 rating mean in practice?
IP65 means the bulkhead is fully protected against dust ingress (the '6') and protected against water jets from any direction (the '5'). In practice, this means the fitting can be installed in fully exposed outdoor positions including car park soffits, building entrances, external corridors, and industrial yards where it will be subject to rain, windblown water, and hosing down. It is not rated for full submersion.
How is the colour temperature changed after installation?
The CCT switch is located on the LED gear tray inside the bulkhead. To change the colour temperature after installation, the diffuser must be removed by unscrewing the four perimeter fixings, the switch position changed, and the diffuser refitted. This requires isolating the electrical supply and is not intended as a regular adjustment.
