14W LED Bulkhead With PIR Sensor - White

The Knightsbridge 14W LED bulkhead with PIR sensor is a 330mm diameter ceiling-mounted or wall-mounted fitting with an integrated microwave motion sensor and a white polycarbonate body. The fitting houses a 14W SMD LED delivering 1070 lumens of 6000K daylight white light through an opal diffuser, replacing traditional 28W 2D fittings at half the energy draw.

Designed for corridors, porches, utility rooms, WCs, stairwells and external covered areas, the IP44 rating provides protection against splashing water and solid objects over 1mm, making it suitable for internal and sheltered external installation. The microwave sensor detects motion through walls and glass, offering a wider detection zone than passive infrared sensors. A slave terminal allows one sensor-equipped bulkhead to trigger additional non-sensor bulkheads in the same circuit, useful for long corridors or multi-room sequences.

The polycarbonate body is impact-resistant and lighter than metal equivalents, while the 110mm projection sits flush on standard ceilings without excessive drop. The 105° beam angle provides broad coverage, minimising shadows in utility spaces. The opal diffuser spreads the light evenly across the surface, avoiding the hard central hotspot common in cheaper bulkheads. The fitting arrives with the LED lamp pre-installed and wired, requiring only mains connection to operate.

Optional colour trim rings are available separately to customise the appearance or coordinate with interior schemes. The constant current driver maintains stable output over the 72,000-hour L70B50 rated life, which equates to roughly 20 years at 10 hours per day. The fitting is non-dimmable and carries a 3-year manufacturer warranty.

Can the sensor be adjusted or turned off?

The microwave sensor is factory-set and operates automatically when motion is detected. There is no manual override or sensitivity adjustment on this model. If constant-on operation is needed, consider a non-sensor version of the same bulkhead.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

The IP44 rating protects against splashing water and solid objects over 1mm, making it suitable for covered external areas such as porches, covered walkways and canopies. It is not rated for fully exposed outdoor installation where it would receive direct rain or snow.

What is the slave terminal for?

The slave terminal allows this sensor-equipped bulkhead to control additional non-sensor bulkheads on the same circuit. When the sensor detects motion, it triggers both this fitting and any slaved units connected to the terminal, useful for corridors or multi-room installations where only one sensor is needed to control multiple lights.

How long does the light stay on after detecting motion?

The hold time is factory-set and varies by model. Check the product specification sheet in the Downloads tab for the exact duration, typically between 30 seconds and 3 minutes depending on the sensor configuration.
