Description
The Knightsbridge SF6300NSB is a 13A switched fused spur unit with a neon indicator housed behind a smoked bronze screwless faceplate. The unit controls fixed appliances such as electric cookers, extractor fans, boilers and immersion heaters, providing switched isolation and overcurrent protection via a standard 13A fuse in the holder visible on the front plate.
Designed for residential and light commercial installation, the fused spur fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and uses a screwless cover plate that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame. The neon indicator glows when the circuit is live, providing visual confirmation that power is supplied to the connected appliance without needing to switch the spur on. The rocker switch isolates both live and neutral when turned off, allowing safe maintenance of connected equipment.
The smoked bronze finish is a dark gunmetal grey with warm brown undertones, achieved through Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) applied to premium-grade steel. This finish resists fingerprints and surface wear better than painted or plated alternatives, and pairs well with industrial, modern and dark-toned contemporary interiors. The low-profile design projects just 4.3mm from the wall once fitted, with a built-in gasket around the edge of the cover plate to minimise gaps between plate and wall surface. The unit is certified to BS 1363-4 and carries IP20 ingress protection, suitable for indoor use in dry locations.

Frequently Asked
What appliances can be controlled by this fused spur?
The 13A rating suits fixed appliances up to 3,000W including electric cookers, extractor fans, boilers, immersion heaters, heated towel rails and hardwired downlight circuits. It is not suitable for socket outlets or portable appliances — it is designed for permanent wiring only.
What does the neon indicator show?
The neon glows when the circuit is live, confirming that power is supplied to the fused spur. It remains lit whether the rocker switch is on or off, so you can verify the circuit is energised without needing to switch the appliance on.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the spur and re-clipped without re-wiring or disturbing the fixed connections.
What fuse does it take?
The unit takes a standard BS 1362 13A fuse, the same cartridge fuse used in UK plug tops. The fuse holder is visible on the front plate and can be accessed for fuse replacement without removing the cover.
