Description
The Knightsbridge 13A 2-gang DP switched socket provides two independently switched outlets with double-pole isolation behind a smoked bronze screwless faceplate with a black insert. The twin earth terminal configuration supports high-integrity earthing systems where a separate earth connection is needed for each outlet, meeting requirements for commercial installations and certain domestic ring circuits.
Designed for residential, commercial and hospitality installation, the socket fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and uses a screwless cover plate that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame. This means there are no visible screws or fixings on the wall once installed, giving a cleaner finish than traditional screw-fixed plates. The dual-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when each socket is switched off, providing additional safety over single-pole switching for high-draw appliances.
The smoked bronze finish is a darker, cooler-toned metallic that sits between gunmetal and aged brass, pairing well with industrial, contemporary and transitional interiors. The premium-grade steel construction with an integrated gasket behind the plate prevents ingress of dust and paint spray during decoration, maintaining the IP20 rating. The black insert behind the bronze faceplate hides the back of the cover plate and gives a defined edge to each outlet aperture. Certified to BS 1363:2 and carrying Knightsbridge's 25-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
What are twin earth terminals and when are they needed?
Twin earth terminals provide a separate earth connection for each outlet rather than a single shared terminal. This configuration is required in certain commercial installations and some domestic ring circuits where regulations or the electrical design specify high-integrity earthing for each outlet independently.
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted, giving a low-profile finish.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the socket and re-clipped without re-wiring. The integrated gasket helps prevent paint spray ingress during decoration.
What other finishes are available in this range?
Knightsbridge produces this style in a range of finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, antique brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
