Description
The Knightsbridge 13A 2-gang DP switched socket combines a twin 13A power outlet with a 2-gang modular aperture behind a smoked bronze screwless faceplate with black insert. The modular section accepts two euro-size 25 x 50mm inserts, allowing the plate to be configured with additional USB charging ports, HDMI connections, RJ45 network sockets, coaxial TV points or speaker terminals depending on installation needs.
Designed for residential living rooms, home offices and hospitality applications where power and data connectivity are needed in a single wall position, the modular aperture removes the need for separate faceplates adjacent to the socket. The double-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when the socket is switched off, providing additional safety over single-pole switching for high-draw appliances. The 13A rating handles standard UK appliance loads up to 3,120W per outlet.
The smoked bronze finish is a dark metallic tone between gunmetal and bronze, with a low-sheen surface that minimises fingerprints and reflections. The black insert behind the faceplate provides a defined edge to each outlet and modular aperture. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, so there are no visible fixings on the wall once installed. The premium-grade steel construction and 25-year warranty indicate this is a long-term fitting rather than a budget accessory.

Frequently Asked
What modular inserts are compatible with this plate?
The 2-gang aperture accepts standard euro-size 25 x 50mm modular inserts. Knightsbridge produces compatible inserts for USB charging (USB-A, USB-C), HDMI, RJ45 network, coaxial TV/satellite, phone, speaker terminals and blank plates. Modular inserts are sold separately.
What back box depth is required?
A 35mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 4.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted, with a 21.2mm recessed depth behind the wall surface.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the socket and re-clipped without re-wiring or removing the power.
Can the modular apertures be left blank?
Yes, if the modular apertures are not immediately needed. Knightsbridge produces blank euro-size inserts to fill the apertures until a specific connection type is required. Without inserts fitted, the apertures will be open holes in the faceplate.
