Description

The Knightsbridge 13A 1-gang DP switched socket combines an anthracite screwless faceplate with a black insert and matching rocker switch. The double-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when the socket is switched off, providing additional safety over single-pole switching for high-draw appliances.

Designed for residential, commercial and hospitality installation, the socket fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and uses a screwless cover plate that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame. This means there are no visible screws or fixings on the wall once installed, giving a cleaner finish than traditional screw-fixed plates. The 13A rating handles standard UK appliance loads up to 3,120W per outlet.

The anthracite finish is a dark charcoal grey with a subtle metallic sheen, sitting between graphite and black on the tonal scale. It pairs well with contemporary interiors, industrial schemes, and as a contrast accent against lighter wall colours. The premium grade steel construction provides durability in high-traffic areas, and the built-in gasket within the plate helps maintain a tight seal against the wall for a flush appearance. The black insert behind the anthracite faceplate hides the back of the cover plate and gives a defined edge to the outlet aperture.

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds approximately 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the socket and re-clipped without re-wiring.
