This E27 globe bulb runs a bright 12W LED behind opal glass, giving a soft, even light with no harsh filament glare. It puts out 1400 lumens of warm white light at 3000K, a bright light strong enough to be a main light. The 125mm opal globe is large enough to read as a feature yet bright enough to do real work. At 3000K the colour is a soft, homely warm white that flatters most rooms.

Because it is brighter than most decorative bulbs, it can act as a main light in open pendants, shades and bare-flex fittings. The even, diffused glow suits living rooms, kitchens and bedrooms, spreading light smoothly instead of casting a hard hotspot. It suits anyone who wants the soft look of a decorative globe but still needs enough light to use the room.

The opal glass diffuses the LED evenly, and the E27 screw cap fits any standard large-screw holder. It is dimmable on a compatible trailing-edge dimmer, so you can take the level down for the evening. Switch it off, let it cool and wipe the glass with a dry, soft cloth to keep it clear. As an LED it lights instantly at full brightness, with no warm-up or flicker. Being LED, it runs cool and uses a fraction of the power of the bulb it replaces, which keeps running costs down. If you have several matching fittings in one room, buy a few together so the colour and brightness stay even from bulb to bulb.
