Description

This ESP 10m CAT5 ethernet cable connects IP cameras to network video recorders, PoE switches and network infrastructure. The cable uses twisted 4-pair copper wiring terminated at one end with a moulded RJ45 connector, leaving the opposite end free for field termination or connection to a camera's flying lead.

Designed for outdoor IP camera installations where the cable run needs to withstand UV exposure, rain and temperature variation, the polyethylene outer jacket provides protection against moisture ingress and UV degradation. The 10m length suits installations from eaves-mounted cameras to ground-level NVRs, porch cameras to hallway network cabinets, or external junction boxes to indoor equipment racks.

The twisted-pair construction reduces electromagnetic interference from adjacent power cables and environmental noise, maintaining stable data transmission for HD and 4K IP camera feeds. At 360g net weight the cable is light enough to support along cable trays or through conduit without excessive sag, while the black jacket blends against dark soffits, downpipes and external wall-mounted trunking.

Frequently Asked

Can this cable be used outdoors?

Yes. The polyethylene jacket is rated for external use and provides protection against UV exposure, rain and temperature variation. The cable can be run along external walls, through conduit, or clipped to soffits and eaves.

Is the cable pre-terminated at both ends?

One end is pre-terminated with a moulded RJ45 connector. The opposite end is unterminated, allowing it to be connected to an IP camera's flying lead, terminated with a second RJ45 connector, or wired into a junction box depending on the installation.

What camera resolutions does CAT5 support?

CAT5 supports IP camera resolutions up to 1080p HD comfortably. For 4K cameras, CAT5 can carry the data over short to medium runs (under 50m), but CAT5e or CAT6 is recommended for longer distances or installations requiring future-proofing to higher resolutions.

Can the cable carry PoE power?

Yes. The twisted 4-pair wiring supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) for cameras that draw power from the network connection. Check the camera's power draw and the PoE injector or switch rating to confirm compatibility.
