Description

The Knightsbridge 10AX fan isolator switch provides triple-pole switching to isolate bathroom or utility room extractor fans while maintaining the lighting circuit. The matt white screwless faceplate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, leaving no visible fixings once installed. The switch is rated at 10A maximum load on a 230V circuit, handling typical domestic extractor fan motors drawing up to 2,300W.

Designed for en-suite bathrooms, family bathrooms, utility rooms and kitchens where Building Regulations require a fan to be isolatable without disconnecting the lighting circuit, this switch fits a standard 16mm minimum back box depth. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted. The three-position rocker has clear ON/OFF/ISOLATOR labelling engraved into the faceplate.

The matt white finish is a low-sheen powder-coated steel that resists fingerprints better than gloss white and pairs cleanly with white tiles, neutral bathroom schemes and modern interiors. The built-in gasket between the cover plate and sub-frame reduces dust ingress behind the faceplate. The switch carries IP20 rating for dry indoor use and is certified to EN 60669-1 and EN 60669-2-4 for safe domestic and commercial installation.

What is a triple-pole fan isolator switch?

A triple-pole isolator disconnects the live, neutral and switched live connections to the fan motor, allowing it to be isolated without affecting the lighting circuit. This is required by Building Regulations in most new bathroom installations where the fan is wired to run after the light is switched off.

What back box depth is required?

A 16mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted, giving a total depth of approximately 20mm.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The matt white cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the switch and re-clipped without re-wiring.
