Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 6-gang 2-way switch provides six independent switching circuits behind a white square edge faceplate made from 9mm thermoset resin. Each gang is rated at 10AX, handling lighting circuits up to 2,300W per switch at 230V. The 2-way switching configuration allows the same light or circuit to be controlled from two different switch locations when paired with a second 2-way switch elsewhere in the room.
Designed for residential and light commercial installations where multiple lighting zones need control from a single wall position, the switch suits open-plan kitchens, living rooms, hallways and bedrooms with six or more separate lighting circuits. The 146mm width covers a standard 2-gang UK back box with a minimum 16mm depth, and the included screw cap covers conceal the fixing screws after installation for a cleaner wall finish.
The thermoset resin construction carries anti-microbial properties tested to ISO 22196:2011, reducing bacterial growth on high-contact surfaces in kitchens, bathrooms and care environments. The white finish is a hard-wearing matt surface that resists yellowing and surface marks better than standard thermoplastic plates. Knightsbridge backs this switch with a 25-year warranty, reflecting the durability of the thermoset material and the switch mechanism.

Frequently Asked
What does 2-way switching mean?
2-way switching allows the same light or circuit to be controlled from two different wall positions. Each of the six gangs on this switch can be paired with a corresponding 2-way switch elsewhere in the room to create two-location control for that circuit.
What back box is needed?
The switch fits a standard 2-gang UK back box with a minimum depth of 16mm. The 146mm width matches the standard 2-gang footprint, so it mounts on the same back box size as a standard 2-gang socket or switch.
What's the difference between thermoset and thermoplastic?
Thermoset resin is harder, more heat-resistant and less prone to yellowing or warping than thermoplastic. It carries a higher material cost but offers better long-term durability, which is why Knightsbridge backs thermoset plates with a 25-year warranty versus 10 years for thermoplastic.
Are screw caps included?
Yes. White screw caps are supplied to cover the fixing screws after installation, giving a cleaner finish on the wall without visible fixings.
