Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 4-gang 2-way switch controls up to four independent lighting circuits from a single faceplate, with each gang rated at 10A (2,300W per circuit at 230V). The 2-way configuration allows each circuit to be switched from two separate locations, making it suitable for rooms with multiple entry points or for controlling different lighting zones within a larger space.
Designed for residential and commercial installation, the switch fits a 16mm minimum back box depth and uses a screwless cover plate that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame. This means there are no visible screws or fixings on the wall once installed, giving a cleaner finish than traditional screw-fixed plates. The 4-gang layout works best in larger rooms where multiple lighting types need independent control — ceiling downlights, wall lights, under-cabinet task lighting, or accent lighting on separate circuits.
The premium-grade steel construction provides rigidity and long-term durability, with a matt black finish that minimises fingerprints and pairs well with modern, industrial and monochrome interiors. Each rocker is metal to match the faceplate, avoiding the visual disconnect of plastic rockers on metal plates. The built-in gasket behind the faceplate protects the switch mechanism from dust ingress. Rated to EN 60669-1 and IP20 for indoor use, with a 25-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
What back box depth is required?
A 16mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted, giving a low-profile finish compared to deeper standard switches.
What does 2-way switching mean?
2-way switching allows each of the four gangs to be controlled from two separate switch locations. This is useful for controlling lights from both ends of a hallway, or from multiple entry points in a larger room. Each gang operates independently.
What's the maximum load per gang?
Each gang is rated at 10A, which supports up to 2,300W at 230V. This is sufficient for typical domestic lighting circuits including LED downlights, pendant lights, and wall lights on a single gang.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the switch and re-clipped without re-wiring.
