Description

The Knightsbridge 10AX 2-gang 2-way switch provides control of two separate lighting circuits from two locations, housed behind a smoked bronze screwless faceplate with matching metal rockers. Each gang is rated at 10AX (10 amps) on 230V mains, suitable for controlling LED, CFL and incandescent lighting loads up to 2,300W per circuit.

Designed for rooms with dual entry points such as hallways, staircases, open-plan living spaces and through-lounges, the 2-way configuration allows the same lights to be switched on or off from either end of the room. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, eliminating visible fixings on the wall and giving a cleaner finish than traditional screw-fixed plates. The built-in gasket between the cover and sub-frame provides IP20-rated protection against dust ingress.

The smoked bronze finish is a dark, warm metallic tone with a low-sheen surface that sits between matt black and brushed bronze. The matching metal rockers are formed from the same premium-grade steel as the faceplate, giving a uniform appearance across the switch. The 87.5mm square plate sits nearly flush to the wall with a 4.3mm projection, and requires a minimum 16mm back box depth for installation. Certified to EN 60669-1 and backed by a 25-year warranty.

What back box depth is required?

A minimum 16mm back box depth is needed. The switch has a recessed depth of 13.2mm and a 4.3mm projection from the wall once the screwless cover plate is fitted.

Is the screwless plate removable?

Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame that is fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for redecorating and re-clipped without needing to disconnect wiring.
