Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 2-gang 2-way switch provides two-location lighting control behind a matt white screwless faceplate with matching metal rockers. The 2-way switching allows the same light or circuit to be controlled from two different points, typically at either end of a hallway, at the top and bottom of stairs, or at opposite ends of a large room.
Built from premium steel with a matt white finish, the screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the wall, leaving no visible screws or fixings once installed. The 87.5mm square plate sits flush to the wall with a projection of only 4.3mm, giving a clean profile that works in both residential and commercial installations. The IP20 rating suits dry interior locations including living rooms, bedrooms, offices and hallways.
The 10AX rating handles lighting loads up to 2,300W at 230V, making this switch suitable for multi-bulb ceiling lights, pendant clusters and track lighting circuits. The switch is certified to EN 60669-1 and carries a 25-year warranty. Installation requires a 16mm minimum back box depth, which is shallower than most socket back boxes and suits installations where plaster depth or studwork thickness is limited.

Frequently Asked
What does 2-way switching mean?
2-way switching allows a light or circuit to be controlled from two separate locations. This requires two 2-way switches wired together, typically positioned at opposite ends of a hallway, at the top and bottom of stairs, or at different entrances to a large room. Each switch can turn the light on or off regardless of the other switch's position.
What back box depth is required?
A 16mm minimum back box depth is needed. The screwless cover plate clips onto a metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, with the plate projecting only 4.3mm from the wall once fitted.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame and can be removed for painting around the switch and re-clipped without re-wiring.
What other finishes are available in this range?
Knightsbridge produces this switch style in a range of finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, antique brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
