Description

The Knightsbridge 10AX 2-gang 2-way switch controls two separate lighting circuits from two locations, housed behind an anthracite screwless faceplate with matching metal rockers. The 10AX rating handles loads up to 2,300W per gang, making it suitable for standard domestic and light commercial lighting circuits including LED, halogen and incandescent fittings.

Designed for hallways, staircases, landings and rooms with dual-entry points, the 2-way wiring allows the same lights to be switched on or off from either end of the circuit. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, giving a clean wall finish with no visible fixings once installed. The 87.5mm square plate sits flush with plasterwork with only 4.3mm projection from the wall.

The anthracite finish is a dark grey powder-coated steel that pairs with industrial, contemporary and monochrome schemes. The metal rockers are finished to match the plate, and the built-in gasket between plate and sub-frame improves moisture resistance beyond the IP20 base rating. The switch requires a 16mm minimum back box depth and carries EN 60669-1 certification with a 25-year manufacturer warranty.

2-way switching allows the same light or lights to be controlled from two separate switch locations, such as opposite ends of a hallway or at the top and bottom of a staircase. This switch is wired in parallel with a second 2-way switch to create the circuit.

What back box depth is required?

A 16mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The anthracite cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the switch and re-clipped without re-wiring.
