Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 1-gang 2-way switch features an anthracite screwless faceplate made from premium-grade steel with a textured matt finish. The 2-way switching configuration allows the same light or circuit to be controlled from two separate locations, such as at opposite ends of a hallway or at the top and bottom of a staircase.
Designed for residential and commercial installations, the switch fits a 16mm minimum back box depth and uses a screwless cover plate that clips onto a metal sub-frame. Once installed, no fixings or screws are visible on the wall surface, giving a flush, continuous finish. The 10AX rating handles loads up to 2,300W on 230V, suitable for most domestic lighting circuits including LED, halogen and incandescent.
The anthracite finish is a dark charcoal grey with a subtle texture that reduces fingerprint visibility and pairs with industrial, contemporary and monochrome interiors. The matching anthracite rocker sits flush with the plate when the switch is in either position. The built-in gasket between the faceplate and wall surface prevents dust ingress and provides a tight seal once clipped into place.
Certified to EN 60669-1 safety standards and carrying a 25-year warranty, the switch is rated IP20 for indoor dry-location use. The earth terminal connection allows for safe integration with earthed lighting circuits and provides additional protection in fault conditions.

Frequently Asked
What is 2-way switching?
A 2-way switch allows a single light or circuit to be controlled from two separate locations. Common applications include hallways, staircases, or large rooms where you want control from both entry points. You need two 2-way switches wired together to create this configuration.
What back box depth is required?
A 16mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The anthracite cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The plate can be removed for painting around the switch and re-clipped without re-wiring.
What other finishes are available in this range?
Knightsbridge produces this switch style in a range of finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, antique brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
