Description

The Knightsbridge 100A 5-way single-pole connector block provides a termination point for up to five conductors on L1 live circuits, rated at 100A and 230V AC. The brown polycarbonate body accepts cable sizes from 2.5mm² to 35mm², secured with Allen key terminals that lock the cable and maintain firm contact under load. The IP2XD rating prevents accidental finger contact with live terminals once the cover is closed.

Designed for use in distribution boards, meter cupboards and consumer units where multiple outgoing circuits need to be fed from a single incoming supply, the connector block features both top and bottom cable entry points to suit different wiring orientations. The interlocking design allows multiple blocks to be joined side-by-side for installations requiring more than five connections, with the blocks clipping together to form a secure strip.

Each unused terminal entry is covered by a shutter that prevents accidental contact or debris ingress when fewer than five conductors are connected. The brown colour coding marks the block for L1 phase identification, following the convention used in three-phase installations where brown, black and grey denote L1, L2 and L3 respectively. The polycarbonate construction provides impact resistance and maintains dimensional stability across the operating temperature range.

Frequently Asked

What cable sizes does this connector block accept?

The block accepts conductors from 2.5mm² to 35mm². Each of the five terminals can accommodate a different cable size within this range, allowing flexibility when splitting a supply to multiple circuits of different ratings.

What does the IP2XD rating mean?

IP2XD protection prevents accidental finger contact with live terminals when the cover is closed, and provides limited protection against solid objects larger than 12.5mm. This is the standard protection level for connector blocks used inside consumer units and enclosures.

Can multiple blocks be joined together?

Yes. The interlocking design allows multiple blocks to be clipped side-by-side, forming a continuous strip. This is useful in installations requiring more than five connections from a single incoming supply.

Why is the block brown rather than black or grey?

The brown colour identifies the block for use on L1 phase circuits, following the UK convention for three-phase installations where brown denotes L1, black denotes L2, and grey denotes L3. In single-phase installations the colour coding is less critical but still aids identification.
