Description
A single television point on a flat screwless plate, finished in strawberry. There are no screw heads on the face, which is what gives the screwless style its clean line, and the coaxial connector sits centrally. The plate is the standard 88mm square, so it lines up beside other plates of the same size. The body is moulded polycarbonate, light but rigid, and the colour is part of the material rather than a film on top.
It carries the television signal from an aerial feed to the set, so the natural place for it is behind a screen in the living room, or in a bedroom or study where a smaller set lives. It is small enough to disappear behind most televisions. Being a low voltage signal socket rather than a power point, it works alongside a socket instead of replacing one, and we would put them together so a wall-hung television has everything it needs in one place. We reach for coloured plates like this where a room has been decorated with care and plain white would jar.
Being a plastic moulding, the face asks very little of you: a wipe with a barely damp cloth when you dust the skirting board, and nothing stronger, since cream cleaners and solvents will dull the surface. It is rated for dry rooms indoors, so keep it clear of bathrooms and unheated outbuildings. It carries a ten year warranty. Strawberry reads as a warm red against off-white and pale grey, and it looks best when a room commits to it, a consistent plate style and colour along the whole run rather than a lone bright plate in an otherwise white room.

Frequently Asked
How big is the plate?
It is 88mm square, the usual single plate footprint, and it weighs only 65g.
What does it connect?
It takes a coaxial cable, so it terminates an aerial or distribution feed and presents one connector for the television lead.
What is the plate made from?
Polycarbonate, a tough moulded plastic, in a strawberry finish that runs through the material.
Can I use it in a bathroom or a garage?
No. It is IP20 rated and intended for dry indoor rooms only.
How should I clean it?
A soft cloth, barely damp, and nothing abrasive or solvent based. Cream cleaners will take the sheen off the plastic.
Is it a mains socket?
No. It is a Class 3 low voltage signal socket for a television or data circuit, not a power point.
