Description
This is a single coaxial connection for a television aerial, set on a flat dark brown plate with no screws showing on the face. The front snaps over a concealed sub-plate, so what you see is one clean square, 88mm across, with the coaxial connector sitting centrally. The plate and its housing are moulded from polycarbonate, a hard-wearing plastic with the brown running through the material rather than sprayed over the surface.
Brown accessories earn their place where white would leap off the wall: dark timber panelling, a painted-out chimney breast, deep heritage colours in a snug, a study or a bedroom. It suits the spot behind a wall-hung television, the side of a media unit, or a low position near the skirting board where the aerial lead can drop out of sight. We keep brown in stock chiefly for people matching what is already on the wall in houses wired in the seventies and eighties, where a white plate in the middle of a run of brown ones is the thing you notice first.
The moulding takes knocks without marking easily and holds its colour, and because there are no screw heads there is nothing on the face to collect grime. Wipe it with a barely damp cloth and dry it straight after; keep solvents, wipes and cream cleaners away, as they will take the sheen off the brown and leave it patchy. It carries a ten year warranty. It is meant for dry rooms indoors and handles only the low-voltage signal coming down from the aerial, never a mains supply, so it belongs on data and television circuits alone. If you are working along a whole wall, we would put it next to brown switches and power points of the same screwless pattern so the run reads as one continuous line rather than a set of separate plates.

Frequently Asked
What size is the plate?
It is a square plate measuring 88mm by 88mm, so it sits in the same footprint as a standard single accessory plate.
What is it made from?
Moulded polycarbonate, coloured dark brown throughout, with a smooth flat face and a screwless front that clips onto a hidden sub-plate.
What can I connect to it?
It takes a single coaxial aerial lead. It is rated for indoor use on data and television signal circuits only, at IP20, and is not a mains power point.
How deep does the back box need to be?
The stated back box depth for this socket is 25mm.
How should I clean it?
A barely damp cloth followed by a dry one. Skip solvents, alcohol wipes and abrasive creams, which will dull the brown finish.
Is there a warranty?
Yes, it carries a ten year warranty.
