This is a single coaxial aerial socket on a screwless brushed steel plate, made for taking a television feed neatly out of the wall and into the back of a set. The face is flat and square, with the socket set centrally and no screw heads breaking up the metal, so the eye reads the brushed grain rather than the fixings. At 88mm square the plate is modest enough to sit quietly behind furniture, and the silver tone stays cool against white paint, grey walls and darker feature colours alike.
