Description

This is a single aerial point finished in a bright teal, with a screwless front plate that clips over its base so no fixing heads interrupt the face. The plate is square, 88mm across, and sits close to the wall with a shallow profile behind it. One coaxial connection sits in the centre of the plate, ready to take the lead from an aerial run through to a television. The colour is solid rather than printed, and the moulded edges are kept simple so the plate reads as a small block of colour rather than a piece of hardware.

We would fit this where a television sits against a painted or papered wall and the usual white plastic would jump out at you: a living room alcove, a bedroom chimney breast, a kitchen corner where a small set is wall hung. It suits anyone building a scheme in a strong colour and wanting the wall furniture to join in rather than interrupt. It handles low voltage signal work only, on data and aerial circuits, and belongs in dry rooms indoors rather than garages, porches or bathrooms.

The plate and its base are moulded in polycarbonate, a tough plastic that takes a bright pigment well and will not corrode behind furniture or in a warm room. Keep it looking right by wiping the face with a barely damp cloth and drying it straight away; household sprays, cream cleaners and anything with a solvent in it will dull the gloss, so leave them for the worktops. It carries a ten year warranty. We like this teal used deliberately and in small doses, one or two points on a wall where the colour is picked up elsewhere in the room, rather than spread across every plate in the house. Aerial lead not included.
