1 Gang Telephone Socket - Light Grey

A telephone point in light grey, with a flat front that closes over its own frame so no fixing heads are left on show. The plate is 88mm square, which keeps it in line with the other single gang plates around a room. It is a low voltage part rather than a mains one, wired into a telephone or data circuit, and it behaves like the quiet piece of hardware it is: no ornament, just a moulded face with the connector set into it. We keep it in stock because grey plates are asked for as often as white ones now.

It suits a hallway, a study or a bedside where a handset or a router needs a fixed point, and it is a sensible thing to specify in home offices where cabling wants to be tidy rather than trailing. Light grey also holds up better than white in kitchens, utility rooms, workshops and garages, where a pale plate soon starts to look tired. How do I keep the light grey looking clean?

Wipe the face with a dry cloth, or a slightly damp one if there are marks, then dry it off. Avoid solvents, bleach and abrasive pads, which will dull the moulding.
