Description
A satellite feed needs a proper terminating point, and this one gives you a single F-type connector on a clean screwless front plate. The plate is a square 88mm, moulded in polycarbonate and finished in a deep ocean blue, with no visible fixings to interrupt the face. The connector sits centrally, ready to take the coaxial lead from a satellite receiver. It is a low voltage fitting for indoor rooms, meant for satellite and data circuits rather than mains work. We like it in rooms where plain white plastic would look like an afterthought against colour on the walls.
Most of ours go into living rooms and snugs behind the television, and into bedrooms where a second receiver point earns its keep. It suits studies and home offices too, where the aerial and satellite side of things is better tidied into matching plates than left as a loose lead trailing from the skirting board. The colour does real work here: against painted plaster, panelling or a darker alcove, the blue reads as a decision rather than an accident. We would choose it for a room already leaning into blues and greens, and anywhere a single point is all that is wanted.
The moulded body is light in the hand and the front face is smooth, so dust lifts with a dry cloth and fingermarks with a barely damp one. Keep kitchen sprays and solvent cleaners well away, since they can cloud a coloured moulding over time. It carries a ten year warranty. Because the profile is screwless, it looks best when the rest of the room follows suit, so we would run the same flat-fronted style across the switches, sockets and television points nearby and let them read as one family. It is a small piece of hardware, but it is the sort that stops a finished wall looking half done.

Frequently Asked
What size is the front plate?
It is a square plate measuring 88mm by 88mm, with a 25mm back box depth.
What kind of connector does it take?
A single F-type screw connector, which is the standard fitting for satellite coaxial leads from a dish and receiver.
What is the plate made from?
Moulded polycarbonate, coloured through in ocean blue, with a smooth screwless face and no exposed fixing heads.
Can I use it outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20 and intended for dry indoor rooms only.
How should I clean it?
Dry dusting is usually enough. For marks, use a cloth wrung out in plain water and nothing stronger, as solvents and cream cleaners can dull the finish.
Is it a mains fitting?
No. It is Class 3, low voltage, for satellite and data circuits rather than power.
