Description
A single F-type connector sits behind a flat charcoal plate, giving a neat face where the satellite feed comes into the room. The screwless front carries no screw heads at all, so the eye reads the plate as a clean square with the threaded connector at its centre. At 88mm square it keeps to the usual proportions of a domestic plate, and the charcoal is a deep grey with warmth in it, softer on a painted wall than chrome or polished steel.
This is the point you want behind a television or in a media recess, taking the low voltage feed down from a dish rather than any mains power. It suits a lounge where the screen is wall hung, a bedroom with another set, or a study where a receiver lives on a shelf. We would choose it in a room already fitted with dark plates, where a white satellite socket would jump out of the wall. It is for dry rooms indoors, on data and signal circuits only, and never anywhere it might be splashed.
The plate is moulded in polycarbonate, which takes the charcoal colour evenly and does not show the fine scuffing that painted metal picks up around a well used point. Cleaning asks very little: a wipe with a barely damp cloth, then dry, and keep polishes and solvents away from the moulding as they can leave it patchy. If the connector gathers dust while a lead is out, a quick puff of air clears it. It carries a ten year warranty. Screwless plates give you fewer lines to look at, which matters most where the socket sits at eye level beside the screen, and the charcoal reads as a quiet dark grey rather than a flat black.

Frequently Asked
What sort of connector does it take?
It has one F-type screw connector, the threaded type used for satellite receiver leads. The lead screws on by hand and stays put without adaptors.
What size is the plate?
The plate is 88mm by 88mm, with a depth of 25mm behind it, so it holds to standard domestic plate proportions.
Can it be used outdoors or in a shower room?
No. It is rated for indoor use only and should be kept out of wet or splash zones such as bathrooms and porches.
Does it carry mains power?
No. It is a low voltage signal point for data and satellite circuits, so it handles the feed from the dish rather than any mains supply.
Will it mark or fade in a sunny room?
The charcoal is moulded through the polycarbonate rather than sprayed on the surface, so light handling marks wipe away and the colour does not sit on the plate as a coating.
What is the best way to clean it?
Use a barely damp cloth and dry it straight after. Avoid cream cleaners, solvents and abrasive pads, which can dull the matt moulding.
