Description
Pink is not a finish you often see on a data plate, which is rather the point of this one. The front is a screwless plate, so the fixings sit out of sight behind a clip-on cover and you are left with an unbroken face and clean edges. Behind that face is an RJ45 data socket wired for Cat 5 and Cat 6 cable, giving a fixed network point at the wall instead of a lead trailing across the floor. The plate measures 88mm square, the usual single-plate footprint, so it sits in line with the switches and power points around it.
We reach for this where a room needs a proper wired link and plain white plastic would look apologetic: a child's bedroom, a study desk, a craft room, or the wall behind a television where the box and console live. A cabled connection stays steadier than wi-fi for video calls, streaming and gaming, which matters more the further you are from the router. This is a low voltage data circuit rather than mains power, and it belongs in dry rooms indoors rather than a garage, a porch or a shower room. It suits anyone decorating in colour and unwilling to let the hardware spoil it.
The plate and its cover are moulded in polycarbonate, a tough plastic that takes a solid colour well and does not yellow the way cheaper mouldings can. Keep it looking right with a wipe from a barely damp cloth, then dry it off; solvents, bleach and cream cleaners will dull the surface, so leave them under the sink. If dust gathers in the port, a short puff of air clears it better than anything poked inside. It carries a ten year warranty. Pink reads warmest against off-white or pale grey walls, and it looks deliberate rather than accidental when the sockets nearby share the same square, screwless outline.

Frequently Asked
What size is the plate?
It is 88mm square, the standard footprint for a single plate, with a 35mm back box depth behind it.
What cable does it take?
It is made for Cat 5 and Cat 6 data cable terminated to an RJ45 connection.
Does it carry mains power?
No. It is a Class 3 low voltage fitting for data circuits only, so nothing mains rated should be connected to it.
What is the plate made from?
polycarbonate, in a pink finish, with a screwless cover that hides the fixings.
Can I use it in a bathroom or outdoors?
No. It is rated IP20 and intended for indoor use in dry rooms.
How many connections does it provide?
One, on a single gang plate, which is enough for a single computer, television box, console or access point.
