Description

The Knightsbridge CL1DIMPC is a 1-gang dimmer plate in polished chrome with a matching metal dimmer cap and rounded edge design. Constructed from premium-grade steel, the plate measures 85.75mm square with a 7.5mm projection from the wall once fitted. The plate arrives unpopulated, allowing the installer to fit either a centre-positioned or offset dimmer module depending on wiring layout and preference.

Designed for residential dimming applications in bedrooms, living rooms, dining areas and hallways, the plate accepts standard UK dimmer modules rated for LED, halogen or incandescent loads. The rounded edge profile softens the visual impact against the wall compared to squared or bevelled plates, making it suitable for both contemporary and traditional interiors. The polished chrome finish provides a mirror-like reflective surface that pairs with chrome taps, door furniture and other metallic accents.

The matching metal dimmer cap clips onto the fitted dimmer module, creating a unified finish across the faceplate. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor environments, and the plate includes an earth terminal for safe installation. Knightsbridge backs this product with a 25-year warranty, reflecting the durability of the steel construction and chrome plating process.

Frequently Asked

Does this plate come with a dimmer module fitted?

No. The plate arrives unpopulated, so you need to purchase a separate dimmer module rated for your lamp load type (LED, halogen or incandescent). This allows flexibility to choose the correct module for your specific installation and lighting circuit.

What's the difference between centre and offset module positions?

Centre position places the dimmer knob in the middle of the plate. Offset position moves it to one side, which can be useful when the plate is mounted next to a door frame or window reveal where a centred knob would be awkward to reach.

Is the rounded edge screwless?

No. This is a traditional screw-fixed plate with visible fixings. For a screwless version in polished chrome, see Knightsbridge's screwless range which uses a separate sub-frame and clip-on cover.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating suits dry indoor areas only. Bathrooms require IP44-rated fittings in zones 1 and 2 near baths, showers and basins. This plate is suitable outside those zones where splashing is not a risk.
