Description

The Knightsbridge 1-gang dimmer plate is an unpopulated screwless faceplate finished in matt black premium-grade steel, supplied with a matching metal dimmer cap. The plate measures 87.5mm square with a 4.3mm projection from the wall once fitted, and accepts either centre or offset dimmer modules (sold separately) behind the screwless cover.

Designed for residential and commercial installation where rotary dimming control is needed, the plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, hiding all fixings behind the faceplate. The matt black finish provides a low-sheen surface that resists fingerprints better than polished finishes and pairs comfortably with industrial, monochrome and contemporary interiors. The matching metal cap for the dimmer knob coordinates with the faceplate, giving a unified appearance once a dimmer module is installed.

The screwless construction uses a built-in gasket between the cover plate and sub-frame, sealing the edge and giving a clean line against the wall. The IP20 rating confirms suitability for dry indoor locations such as living rooms, bedrooms, offices and studios. No. This is an unpopulated faceplate only. You need to purchase a compatible Knightsbridge dimmer module separately, either centre or offset configuration, depending on your wiring and preference.

What back box depth is required?

The plate fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth. The screwless cover adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once clipped onto the sub-frame.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame that remains fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting or decorating around the switch and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring.
