Description

The Knightsbridge 1-gang dimmer plate is an anthracite screwless faceplate designed to accept a single rotary dimmer module (sold separately). The plate is constructed from premium-grade steel with a dark anthracite powder-coated finish and includes a matching metal dimmer cap that sits flush with the plate surface. The screwless cover clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, concealing all fixing screws once installed.

Designed for residential, hospitality and commercial installations where dimming control is needed for incandescent, halogen or dimmable LED lighting circuits, the plate suits living rooms, dining areas, bedrooms and offices. The 87.5mm square format fits standard UK single-gang back boxes with a minimum 25mm depth. The built-in gasket between the cover plate and sub-frame helps prevent dust ingress and gives a tight, flush finish against the wall.

The anthracite finish offers a dark grey-black metallic tone that pairs with industrial, contemporary and minimalist interiors. The steel construction provides greater impact resistance than plastic faceplates, while the powder-coated surface resists fingerprints and minor scuffs better than polished finishes. No. This is the faceplate and metal cap only. The dimmer module itself is sold separately. Knightsbridge produces a range of rotary dimmer modules rated for different loads (trailing-edge LED, leading-edge incandescent, dual-mode) that fit this plate.

What back box depth is required?

A standard 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. The 4.3mm projection of the plate once fitted means the total depth from the wall surface is just over 4mm, giving a low-profile finish.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The cover plate clips onto a metal sub-frame that is screw-fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed by hand for painting around the switch and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring or sub-frame.
