The Knightsbridge FP2191PC is a 1-gang 2-way intelligent dimmer rated at 10-200W for resistive loads and 5-150W for LED, with automatic trailing-edge and leading-edge mode switching. The dimmer uses a push on/off rotary control behind a polished chrome flat plate with a matching chrome dimmer cap. The low-profile metal faceplate projects just 2.5mm from the wall once fitted.

Designed for residential and hospitality installation where dimming control is needed for table lamps, wall lights or ceiling circuits, the dimmer switches between trailing-edge mode (for LEDs and electronic transformers) and leading-edge mode (for resistive and inductive loads) automatically depending on the connected load. This allows the dimmer to handle most dimmable LED bulbs, halogen transformers and resistive incandescent lamps without manual mode selection. The 2-way switching supports control from two locations, pairing with a standard intermediate switch where needed.

The front-mounted rotary knob controls both on/off (push action) and brightness (rotation), with the trim function accessible via a small adjustment screw behind the knob for setting minimum brightness levels. Built-in overload and overheat protection shuts the dimmer down if the connected load exceeds the rated wattage or if internal temperature rises beyond safe operating limits. An inrush current limiter reduces stress on LED drivers during switch-on. The polished chrome finish provides a high-gloss reflective surface that pairs with chrome taps, door furniture and other polished metal accents in bathrooms, kitchens and hallways.

What LED bulbs is this compatible with?

The dimmer handles dimmable LED bulbs rated between 5-150W in trailing-edge mode. Not all LED bulbs are dimmable — check the bulb packaging for a 'dimmable' label. For best results, use the same brand and wattage of LED bulb across all fittings on the circuit, as mixing brands or wattages can cause flickering or incomplete dimming range.

What does 2-way switching mean?

2-way switching allows the same light circuit to be controlled from two separate locations. This dimmer can be paired with another 2-way dimmer or a standard 2-way switch at the second location. For control from three or more locations, an intermediate switch is required between the two 2-way switches.

How is the minimum brightness set?

Behind the rotary knob there is a small trim adjustment screw. Turn this screw to set the minimum brightness level, which prevents the lamp from flickering or extinguishing at the lower end of the dimming range. This is particularly useful when dimming LED bulbs that have a narrow dimming window.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. The flat plate adds just 2.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted, making it one of the lowest-profile dimmers available in the Knightsbridge range.
