Description

The Zon is a white metal mounting ring designed to house round recessed downlights with a 22.6cm aperture. The ring measures 29.2cm outer diameter and 6.4cm height, providing the structural frame that sits within the ceiling cut-out and holds the downlight fitting flush to the ceiling surface. The white powder-coated metal finish matches standard white ceiling paint and conceals the rough edges of the ceiling aperture.

Used in new-build and retrofit recessed lighting installations, the Zon mounting ring fits between the ceiling joists and plasterboard, with the perforated metal flanges visible in the image providing fixing points for screws into the ceiling structure. Once secured, the ring creates a stable platform for the downlight to clip or screw into, preventing movement and ensuring the light sits level with the ceiling plane. The IP20 rating limits use to dry interior areas — living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and kitchens outside splashback zones.

The metal construction provides rigidity where plasterboard alone would sag or crack under the weight of a downlight fitting over time.
