Description

The Zon is a 120mm diameter outdoor ceiling light with an integrated 15W LED delivering 3000K warm white light through a white acrylic diffuser, housed in a black aluminium drum that sits 58mm deep when surface-mounted. The IP65 rating protects against dust ingress and water jets from any direction, making the fitting suitable for covered outdoor areas including porch ceilings, canopy soffits, and garage entrances.

Designed as a flush-mount alternative to traditional bulkhead lights, the Zon provides downward-focused light for pathways, entrance steps, and outdoor seating areas under cover. The 15W output at 3000K provides functional task light without the cooler blue cast of higher colour temperatures, maintaining visibility on keyholes, door handles and steps after dark. The low 58mm projection suits installations where headroom or visual intrusion matters, such as covered walkways and low canopies.

The aluminium body resists corrosion in typical UK coastal and urban environments, while the acrylic diffuser softens the LED source and distributes light evenly across the 120mm diameter. The CRI 80 rating renders colours accurately enough for outdoor social areas and entrance lighting. No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and non-replaceable. The module is rated for approximately 30,000 hours, equivalent to around 10 years at 8 hours per night. When the LED reaches end-of-life, the entire fitting needs replacing.

Is the Zon suitable for fully exposed outdoor positions?

The IP65 rating protects against water jets and dust, making it suitable for covered outdoor positions such as porch ceilings, canopies and soffits. It is not designed for fully exposed positions subject to direct rain pooling on the top surface for extended periods.

What colour is the light output?

The integrated LED delivers 3000K warm white light, similar in tone to a traditional halogen bulb. This is warmer than typical 4000K outdoor security lights, making it better suited to residential entrances and social outdoor areas.

How is the fitting attached to the ceiling?

The Zon surface-mounts directly onto the ceiling via a back plate. Standard UK wiring connects to a terminal block inside the fitting. The 58mm depth includes the mounting plate, so the visible projection from the ceiling is slightly less once installed.
