Description

The Zon is a 12cm diameter surface-mounted LED downlight with a cylindrical aluminium body finished in matt black. The integrated 12W LED delivers 3000K warm white light downward through a flush diffuser panel at the base. At 6cm tall, the fitting sits close to the ceiling without recessing into it, making it compatible with solid ceilings where cut-outs are impractical and with ceiling heights as low as 2.1-2.2m where flush or recessed fittings would feel too low.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, bathrooms (outside wet zones due to the IP20 rating), living rooms and commercial corridors, the Zon works as general ambient lighting or as part of a multi-light layout in larger rooms. The surface-mount configuration means installation requires only a ceiling rose connection and two fixing screws through the base plate, with no cutting into plasterboard or dealing with joists. The 12cm footprint allows multiple Zon fittings to be spaced 1-1.5m apart without visual crowding.

The aluminium construction keeps the weight minimal while resisting dents and scratches during installation. The matt black finish absorbs reflections under daylight and blends into darker ceilings, while contrasting cleanly against white or pale-painted surfaces. The 3000K colour temperature falls between neutral and warm, providing enough brightness for task visibility without the cooler tone of office-style LED downlights. The 12W output at 220-240V AC is non-dimmable on standard installations.

The integrated 12W LED is not dimmable on standard mains installations. Check the product manual or contact us if pairing with a specific dimmer module is required for a project.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means the Zon is not protected against water ingress, so it should be installed outside bathroom wet zones (zones 1 and 2). It can be used in the general bathroom area away from the shower or bath enclosure.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 6cm projection from the ceiling makes the Zon suitable for ceiling heights as low as 2.1-2.2m. In rooms with standard 2.4m ceilings the fitting sits comfortably without feeling intrusive.

How is it installed?
