Description

The Ziggy is a 2-light flush ceiling light combining a white opal glass drum diffuser with a lacquered silver geometric outer shade. The outer shade features a lattice pattern of intersecting rectangles and diamond shapes laser-cut from steel, wrapped around the circular opal glass inner. The two E27 bulbs (sold separately) inside the diffuser cast light through the glass and through the geometric apertures in the metalwork, creating layered shadow patterns on the ceiling.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights under 2.4m where a pendant would hang too low, the Ziggy sits close to the ceiling with a total drop of approximately 150-180mm including the metal canopy. The flush mount suits hallways, bedrooms, low-ceiling dining rooms and basement conversions where ambient overhead light is needed without the visual weight of a hanging fitting. The 400mm diameter provides enough coverage for rooms up to 12-15m².

The lacquered silver finish on the steel outer shade has a slight sheen that reflects daylight without being mirror-polished, pairing with both cool greys and warmer neutrals. The geometric lattice wraps the entire circumference of the drum, so the fitting looks detailed from every angle rather than presenting a plain side. The white opal glass sits flush with the bottom edge of the metalwork, giving a clean horizontal line at the base of the fitting.

Frequently Asked

What bulbs does the Ziggy take?

The fitting requires two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for bedroom or hallway use, or 4000K for task-oriented spaces like kitchens.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The flush mount design sits close to the ceiling with a total projection of 150-180mm, making it a good choice for rooms with ceiling heights under 2.4m where pendant lights would hang into headroom.

What size room does it suit?

The 400mm diameter and 2-bulb output provide sufficient ambient light for rooms up to 12-15m² (a typical small bedroom, hallway or study). For larger rooms, consider pairing two Ziggy fittings or supplementing with task lighting.

Is the geometric pattern open or backed?

The outer shade is an open lattice cut from steel. The white opal glass inner diffuser is what contains and softens the light from the bulbs, while the geometric metalwork creates shadow patterns and visual interest around the fitting.
