The Zest is a 33cm outdoor pedestal light with a white opal plastic diffuser shaped as a flattened ellipsoid, designed to sit directly on grass, gravel or paving via an included ground stake. The light takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately) and casts a soft, diffused glow through the translucent white plastic shell. The IP44 rating protects the bulb holder and internal wiring from rain and splashes.

Designed for gardens, patios, courtyards and pathway lighting, the Zest works as ground-level accent lighting around flower beds, beside water features, or grouped in threes or fives along a lawn edge or driveway. The 33cm diameter and 25cm projection give enough presence to be visible from 5-10m without needing to be oversized. The light comes with a cable and UK plug, so it can be powered from an outdoor socket or weatherproof extension lead rather than requiring mains wiring.

The white plastic shell is UV-stabilised to resist yellowing under sunlight and the IP44 rating means the fitting can remain outdoors year-round in UK weather. The ground stake holds the light in place on soft ground without needing to dig or concrete — push the stake into soil or lawn and set the light body on top. The opal diffuser hides the bulb completely when lit, giving an even spread of light rather than a visible filament or LED chip.

The Zest is dimmable when paired with a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible outdoor dimmer, allowing light levels to be reduced for evening ambiance. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K for soft outdoor accent lighting that doesn't overpower planting or seating areas.

What bulb does it take?

The Zest takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Ideal Lux recommend a maximum 15W LED or equivalent for outdoor use. Most users choose a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K.

Can it be left outdoors in winter?

Yes. The IP44 rating protects the bulb holder and internal wiring from rain and splashes, and the UV-stabilised plastic shell resists yellowing and cracking in UK weather. The fitting can remain outdoors year-round.

How is it powered?

The light comes with a cable and UK plug, so it connects to an outdoor socket or weatherproof extension lead. It does not require mains wiring or an electrician to install — simply plug in and position.

Is the ground stake removable?

Yes. The ground stake pushes into soil or lawn and the light body sits on top. The stake can be removed and the light placed on a hard surface such as paving or decking without the stake if preferred.
