Description

The Zest is a 630mm diameter crystal chandelier built around 18 G4 halogen bulbs arranged on curved polished chrome arms, with multiple tiers of 30% lead Asfour crystal droplets suspended between the arms and from the centre canopy. The chrome frame forms an open cage structure with the crystal strands cascading from the top plate down through the interior, creating depth and refraction as light passes through the cut crystal beads.

Designed for double-height entrance halls, large dining rooms and living rooms with ceiling heights of 3m or above, the Zest requires substantial vertical clearance due to its 720mm minimum drop and 1680mm maximum adjustable drop. The 18-bulb configuration provides 360W of total output across the fitting, delivering bright ambient light suitable for rooms of 25-40m². The polished chrome finish reflects both natural daylight and the halogen light sources, amplifying the sparkle effect from the Asfour crystals.

The Zest ships with Luxram G4 halogen capsules included, and uses a transformer wired into the fitting to step mains voltage down to the 12V required by G4 bulbs. The chandelier weighs 7.9kg when fully assembled, requiring a ceiling joist or reinforced fixing point rated for at least 12kg to account for dynamic load. The crystal droplets are individually wired onto the chrome frame during installation, allowing damaged or lost beads to be replaced without rewiring the entire fitting.

The G4 bulbs are not dimmable in this configuration, and the fitting is not compatible with LED or CFL G4 replacements due to transformer incompatibility. Halogen G4 capsules typically last 2,000-3,000 hours and generate more heat than LED equivalents, so the fitting requires adequate ventilation and should not be installed in confined spaces or low-ceiling alcoves.

Can I use LED G4 bulbs instead of halogen?

No. The integrated transformer is designed for halogen G4 capsules and is not compatible with LED or CFL G4 replacements. Attempting to use LED G4 bulbs may cause flickering, premature failure, or damage to the transformer.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop of 720mm plus the 630mm diameter body means you need at least 2.7m ceiling height to avoid the chandelier hanging too low. For comfortable clearance in a double-height entrance hall or over a dining table, 3m or higher is recommended.

Is the chandelier dimmable?

No. The G4 halogen bulbs and integrated transformer in this configuration do not support dimming. The fitting operates at full brightness when switched on.
