Description

The Zephra is a 42cm diameter circular LED pendant light with a matt black powder-coated metal ring and an opal polycarbonate diffuser set inside the frame. An integrated 38W 3000K LED is concealed within the ring structure, casting light both downwards through the diffuser and upwards onto the ceiling, creating a balanced ambient glow without visible bulbs or fittings.

Designed for spaces where a single central pendant would be too dominant but ambient light is still needed, the Zephra suits hallways, kitchen islands, dining nooks and bedroom positions where ceiling heights are 2.4m or above. The transparent PVC suspension cable conceals the electrical run and adjusts to different drop lengths during installation, allowing the ring to sit 600-900mm above a worktop or 700-800mm above a dining table. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor spaces only.

The opal diffuser softens the LED output to an even distribution across the 42cm diameter, removing sharp shadows and glare while the matt black finish absorbs reflections rather than bouncing light back into the room. The ring structure itself is 35mm deep, giving the fitting a low-profile presence that works in rooms with lower ceilings where a traditional pendant shade would intrude into headroom. Multiple Zephra rings can be arranged in a row or cluster over longer tables or kitchen islands, maintaining visual continuity across a larger space.

The integrated LED is non-replaceable and rated for approximately 50,000 hours of operation at typical domestic use patterns. The fitting weighs 1.8kg and mounts to standard UK ceiling roses with the included canopy and cable grip. We stock Ideal Lux's Zephra, manufactured in Italy and backed with a 5-year warranty.

Is the Zephra dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver does not support dimming. If dimming is required, consider pairing with a smart bulb system or choosing a different model from the Ideal Lux range that offers dimmer compatibility.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable for dry indoor spaces only and must not be used in bathrooms, wet rooms, or any area where moisture is present.

What ceiling height is needed?

The transparent cable adjusts during installation. For typical use above a dining table or kitchen island, the ring sits 700-800mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The 35mm-deep ring profile is low enough not to intrude into headroom in standard UK ceiling heights.

Can multiple Zephra rings be arranged together?

Yes. Multiple rings can be installed in a row or cluster arrangement over longer tables or kitchen islands. Each ring requires its own ceiling rose and electrical connection, so plan the wiring layout before installation.
