Description

The Zephra is a 61cm flush ceiling light with an integrated 42W 3000K LED housed behind an opal polycarbonate diffuser, set within a powder-coated white metal frame. The low 35mm profile sits tight to the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with standard 2.4m ceiling heights or lower where a deeper pendant would intrude into headroom.

Designed as primary lighting for bedrooms, living rooms, home offices and corridors, the Zephra delivers diffused ambient light across medium-sized rooms of approximately 15-20m². The opal polycarbonate diffuser eliminates hot spots and glare, distributing the 42W output evenly rather than concentrating it into a narrow beam. The 3000K colour temperature provides warm white light comparable to a traditional tungsten bulb.

The white powder-coated metal frame resists discolouration and pairs cleanly with white or light-painted ceilings, blending into the architecture rather than drawing attention as a fitting. The integrated LED design removes the need for bulb replacement over the fitting's typical lifespan, and the IP20 rating confines use to dry indoor environments only. The Zephra carries a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux and operates on standard UK 230V mains with simple on/off switching.

Can this be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting offers no protection against moisture ingress and must only be installed in dry indoor rooms. Bathrooms require a minimum of IP44 for zones 2 and 3, and IP65 for zones 0 and 1.

The LED is integrated into the fitting and not user-replaceable. Integrated LEDs typically last 25,000-50,000 hours depending on usage pattern. At an average of 4 hours per day, this equates to approximately 15-30 years of use before the LED output degrades below usable levels.

Can it be dimmed?
