The Zephra is a 42cm flush ceiling light with an integrated 23W 3000K LED and a white powder-coated metal frame. A circular opal polycarbonate diffuser sits flush against the ceiling, producing even ambient light across a horizontal plane without downward projection, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights between 2.2m and 2.6m where a pendant would hang too low.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, small home offices and bathroom zones outside the splash areas (IP20 rating), the Zephra mounts directly to a standard ceiling rose with a 35mm total height from ceiling to outer surface. The 425mm diameter covers typical ceiling junction boxes and provides enough spread for rooms up to approximately 3m x 3m without needing multiple fittings. The opal diffuser hides the internal LED array and prevents visible hotspots when viewed from below.

The white powder-coated finish on the metal frame pairs with white or off-white ceilings to reduce visual contrast, allowing the fitting to recede into the ceiling plane rather than act as a focal point. The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm white tone that sits between neutral office lighting and the warmer yellow-cast of traditional tungsten bulbs, working comfortably in both residential and commercial settings. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and rated for approximately 50,000 hours of operation before requiring replacement of the entire fitting.

Is this suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 35mm height means the fitting sits almost flat against the ceiling, making it a good choice for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m to 2.6m where a pendant or semi-flush would reduce headroom or create glare at eye level.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means it can be used in bathroom zones outside the splash areas (typically Zone 3 or beyond 2.4m from water sources). It is not suitable for positions directly above a bath or shower where IP44 or higher is required.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 50,000 hours, equivalent to around 17 years of typical domestic use at 8 hours per day, after which the entire fitting would need replacing.

What room size does it suit?

The 425mm diameter and 23W output suit rooms up to approximately 3m x 3m. For larger rooms or higher ceilings, multiple fittings or a higher-wattage model may be needed to achieve adequate light levels.
