Description

The Zephra is an 81cm flush ceiling light with an integrated 48W LED set behind an opal polycarbonate diffuser, framed by a brushed brass powder-coated metal rim. The LED produces 3000K warm white light distributed evenly across the full diameter of the diffuser, providing ambient illumination without visible hotspots or shadowing.

Designed for rooms with standard or low ceiling heights where a pendant would hang too low, the Zephra sits just 35mm proud of the ceiling once fitted. The 81cm diameter suits living rooms, dining rooms, large bedrooms and entrance halls of 20-30m², where a smaller flush fitting would underlight the space. The brass rim sits flush with the diffuser surface, giving a continuous line around the perimeter rather than a stepped edge.

The brushed brass finish is applied over powder-coated metal, giving a soft satin sheen that reduces glare under daylight and pairs well with brass hardware elsewhere in the room. The opal polycarbonate diffuser is impact-resistant and lighter than glass equivalents, reducing ceiling load. The fitting operates on simple on-off switching with no dimming capability, and the integrated LED is rated for approximately 30,000 hours of use before replacement is needed.

The IP20 rating limits the Zephra to dry interior use only — it cannot be fitted in bathrooms, kitchens directly above hobs, or outdoor covered areas. The fitting is backed by a 5-year manufacturer warranty from Ideal Lux covering defects in materials and workmanship.

Is the Zephra dimmable?

No. The integrated LED operates on simple on-off switching and is not compatible with dimmer switches. Attempting to fit a dimmer may damage the LED driver.

What room size does the 81cm diameter suit?

The 81cm diameter provides sufficient ambient light for rooms of approximately 20-30m² (roughly 4.5m x 6m). Smaller rooms may find the fitting visually dominant, while larger rooms may need supplementary lighting or a second fitting.

Can it be fitted in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Zephra is rated for dry interior use only and does not carry the IP44 or IP65 protection needed for bathroom zones or areas subject to moisture.

How is the diffuser cleaned?

Switch off at the mains before cleaning. Wipe the opal polycarbonate diffuser with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For marks, a barely-damp cloth with water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the fitting or allowing water to enter the LED housing.
