Description
The Zarethis is a 680mm alabaster table lamp built around a stacked column of natural Spanish alabaster, divided into four tapered segments and separated by polished brass bands. A solid alabaster base grounds the column and a polished brass finial caps a white drum shade with a gold-lined interior. The lamp takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately).
Designed for sideboards, console tables, bedside tables and hallway tables, the Zarethis suits living rooms, bedrooms and entrance halls where a sculptural lamp is wanted alongside ambient light. The 380mm shade diameter sits comfortably on most console and bedside surfaces, and the gold-lined shade interior throws a warmer reflected glow downward when the lamp is lit, complementing the cooler translucency of the alabaster column.
Each alabaster segment is cut from natural stone, so the veining, milky-to-clear translucency and tonal variation differ between pieces and between sections of the same lamp. The lower tiers show more pronounced mineral patterning, while the upper cone reads as a softer, paler stone. The polished brass bands and base provide a warm metallic counterpoint and define the stepped geometry of the column without competing with the natural stone.
The cylindrical PVC shade is finished in soft white with a gold-toned inner liner, balancing the visual weight of the stacked stone and keeping the alabaster and brass as the focal materials. The combined drum shade and tiered column give the Zarethis a substantial presence on a surface without crowding it.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Zarethis take?
The lamp takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED between 6-10W at 2700K-3000K pairs well with the alabaster and gold-lined shade, giving a soft ambient glow rather than direct task light.
Does the alabaster vary between lamps?
Yes. Each segment is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, translucency and tonal variation differ between individual lamps and between the segments within a single column. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect.
Where does this lamp work best?
The 680mm height and 380mm shade diameter suit console tables, sideboards, hallway tables and larger bedside tables. It reads well in living rooms, bedrooms and entrance halls where a sculptural lamp is wanted alongside ambient lighting.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more persistent marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water can be used, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners on the alabaster or brass.
